]]>Police appeal for informationhttp://middletoncheney.org/home/2012/1/30/police-appeal-for-information.htmlWebsite2012-01-30T17:42:23ZWe are appealing for information following a serious single-vehicle road traffic collision on the A422 at Brackley on Saturday night (28 January).
 
At around 9.30pm, a red MG Rover ZR hatchback was travelling along the A422 at Brackley - between the Oxford road and Banbury road roundabouts - from the direction of the A43.
 
The driver and four passengers were all aged between 14 and 17 years.
 
The vehicle lost control and left the carriageway. The driver, a 17-year-old boy from Brackley, sustained minor injuries and was discharged following treatment at Northampton General Hospital. He was then arrested and bailed on suspicion of dangerous driving.
 
One of the passengers, a 14-year-old girl from Brackley, is in a critical condition at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford.
 
Also taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital were a 17-year-old boy from Evenley and a 16-year-old boy from Brackley - they are both in a serious but stable condition.
 
The other passenger - a 15-year-old girl from Brackley - was discharged after treatment at Northampton General Hospital.

]]>Local Artist wins and awardhttp://middletoncheney.org/home/2012/1/24/local-artist-wins-and-award.htmlWebsite2012-01-24T15:47:59ZCaroline Chappell, 61, who has taught art in the area since 1985, retired from full time work a decade ago to pursue painting and tutor adult students.

Her entries in the North Oxfordshire Open ART2 Awards were the second submissions she has ever made to a competition and the artist was rewarded by all three pieces being shortlisted for prizes, with her painting ‘Across the Fields’ eventually taking the Best Newcomer title.

Mrs Chappell, who previously taught art at The Warriner School in Bloxham, said: “I taught art for all those years in order to pay the mortgage and I think it’s pretty inspirational to win now.

“It’s wonderful that I’m now finding the time to paint and build a house and a big studio.”

Mrs Chappell’s paintings are being exhibited at the Banbury campus of the Oxfordshire School of Creative Arts, Broughton Road, Banbury until February 2.
