Thanks to Terry Turner for doing such a fast job on printing the leaflets for me, I have been amazed at how many people stepped forward to help deliver to every house in Middleton - Sue and Ed Jerrams Coughtrey, Debbie, Ruth, Molly, Amber, Sally, Pete and his kids, Carole and her kids, Paul and the girls, Fiona, Nigel, Alan and my daughter.

The beacon is here and me and Pete put it together last night, the gas is ordered from Jakemans, hopefully collect on Friday.

I have finally managed to get my hands on a tent which is brilliant. Shelley Newman is all ready with her crafting table for crown making and other crafting activities, the scouts are all organised for silly games, Debbie and Tony from AGU TreeCraft are sorted with the tug of war (have you got your team in yet?) and Max has done some brilliant posters for the wacky racing in the Tennis Court so get those remote controlled cars charged.

The social club will be open from 3pm and there will be american style hot dogs from about 8pm to keep you going if your picnic's run out!!

Fantastic new, Unplugged have just agreed to play a session on the playing field on Monday 4th from about 8pm (they played the Music Festival last year) - http://www.facebook.com/UnpluggedTheBand

And it will all finish with the lighting of the beacon at 10.15pm on this historic event.

I really hope that you will come and join us on the field for this family day of fun, join in with the games or just sit around with your friends and family having a picnic it will be great to see you there.

Message from the Police

The following break ins happeneding in the village - anyone with any information should contract the police.

DESCRIBED AS ‘THE HOLY OF HOLIES OF MORRIS GLASS’ AND INCLUDED IN ENGLAND’S THOUSAND BEST CHURCHES (Simon Jenkins)

All Saints Church in Middleton Cheney, two miles from Banbury, offers a free guided tour of the William Morris windows in this much loved and well cared for church, much of which dates back to the 14th Century. Our tour will help you to discover more about the beautiful stained glass and your guide will tell stories of the various and remarkable local people who cared for our church in times gone by. You will hear tales of some great Victorian Artists, Smallpox, Stockings (!) and the English Civil War. If you are keen on local or art history you are sure to find this tour fascinating.

The tour is conducted in groups of around ten and involves standing for a number of 5 minute presentations, however a seat is never very far away. Please allow 60 minutes for the tour.

Refreshments are available – tea, coffee and biscuits or cakes.

We have access for visitors with disabilities. Children are very welcome on our tours. We would however, suggest a minimum age of 10 years to fully appreciate the experience. At the end of the tour you are invited to contribute towards the preservation of the building, average £2 / £3 per adult. All tours are conducted in English only. No need to book. Ample parking in the village.
