Well done to the organisers of the Music Festival.
Whoever as on the sound desk did a great job and deserves a mention.
I hope the event was an overall success given the change in the weather.

It is however unfortunate that the event is attended by people who can't hold their beer and turned into Neanderthals as the evening progressed.

Residents on Astrop Road were subjected to a riotous display of foul language and behaviour as a number of Troglodytes made their way home to their caves after the festival and then this morning we were treated with the site of discarded bottles and cans down the road to the cross roads where it looked like a new recycling site had been created.

Still it could have been worse, I only had to remove one discarded cider bottle from my garden, it has been alot more in the past but I would appreciate it if someone would remove the bottles and cans that have appeared in and under my hedge.

Completely understand your point of view. Security was really good though and I saw many being asked to leave for doing such things. There are always that few that do things like that and they most probally don`t live in the village.

We as a family had a fantastic time and are really pleased we live in a village that can have such things going on. What wonderful people to spend so much time organising it.

I recall a certain family complaining from the onset about the Music Festival - and wanted and even asked the question, if the PFA would actually pay for them to go away for that weekend !! IMAGINE - !!

The biggest fund raiser MC had ever undertaken and there was a certain family requesting VIP treatment because they couldn't put up with a 'bit of noise' for one night ! No support there then !!!

Months had been spent in preparation making telephone call after telephone call beg, borrowing and stealing for this great event, it was a risk, but it was the start of something which would make money for MC PFA - it was a success and continues to be so - Everyone should pull together -

Let me remind everyone that the Playing Field in MC is an asset and needs looking after, this requires great effort and lots of good fund raising - a green space worth preserving ! They are becoming fewer as we all know !

An awful lot of hard work from numerous village people over many, many years has kept this field going, the history goes way back to John Horace Mold - so onwards and upwards - things move on and if Music Festivals are the way to make money, then we will have to tolerate 'a bit of litter' and a few 'Troglodites' we can pick the litter up ourselves and help maybe - certainly when it is in our own hedge -

We too found glass in the road and rubbish etc. yes annoying, but this is to be expected, hey, have you ever been to Cropredy after Fairport or during - Cropredy folk help out and cook breakfasts for the fans and enjoy a bit of fun !! A bit of community spirit exists - They make money for their churches ! Hold Car Boot Sales etc etc. They Raise funds for their Playgroups !! Come on !!

This is a Village Effort - hope MC2010 was a great success - and made some money to keep the junior football teams going, and the cricket teams, and the Tennis Club and pay for the grass to be mowed and everything else that needs doing ! Maintenance of the play equipment, or even buying new swings and slides - it is all done for the village -

By the way, this is all done voluntarily - get behind this committee and support your Playing Fields - keep it going - they work hard and deserve a pat on the back !

Now, lets think about a new style bonfire night, years ago Guy Fawkes night in MC was celebrated on the Playing Field but again I suspect this will be met by many condemnations !!

I know which direction I would aim my rocket !!

As another Astrop Road resident I completely agree with Peter. The music festival is a good village event and we have no problems with noise etc from the actual event but a bit of consideration as people go to and from the event would be very much appreciated. I was unsure on Sunday morning if I was waking up in Middleton Cheney or downtown Bagdad! Astrop Road was littered with empty beer cans, beer bottles, wine bottles, food wrappers and even whole boxes from crates of beer! I'm sure most of the people who dropped the litter wouldn't be too pleased if it all appeared outside their houses! I understand that parking was available in the school playground and entery to the festival was possible via the tennis court entrance but this did not seem to be marshalled at all as we had a constant stream of cars up and down the road parking anywhere that they could and it was almost impossible to get out of your own drive or road. Don't get me wrong I am not against the event, I think it is a great event for the village and well done to all the organisers, just a bit more consideration for local residents would be appreciated.

I thought this was aforum for open freindly discussion - not a vehical for some residents to threaten others who have the temerity to request some consideration with regard to their property. Those of us who undertake to organise events in our village also take on the responsibility to clear up after ourselves - it simply won't do to expect those in the vacinity to pick up after us. I'm sure Mr Howes your wife or partner would not be happy to clear up after you'd had a late night snack making session - and I would not expect Mr Mackie and any of the other residents of Astrop Road to clear up after an event that already puts them out to some degree.
In the interests of village harmony I will volunteer to clear up next year - I would have done so this year but I don't think my help was needed.
Please let's keep this a friendly site, it is here for fair comment, which I believe was made - not thinly veiled threats, Mr H I don't think that helps your case for holding a bonfire display in the field. I would love to see one and would love to help - but am concerned that a mini - scud will be heading my way if we should disagree over the variety of soup to serve.
