A good day for Middleton Cheney

Today a united group of residents and councillors attended the South Northants Planning Meeting at Springfields Towcester to hear the outcome of the planning for 131 dwellings at Main Road. We are happy to report the Committee unanimously voted 0 - 9 to refuse the application.
Thank you to all those residents that wrote in to express concerns, and special thanks to Nigel Wadlow who took the opportunity to address the committee at today’s meeting to convey the concerns of a majority of the village. We will post the relevant documents on the website as soon as they are available.

I would like to express my personal thanks to Nigel Wadlow for speaking at the meeting on behalf of the residents and also to Cllrs Paul Browne and John Rakestraw who spoke on behalf of the Parish. The County Council's decision to refuse the application was the right one and I hope that Benfield Group, or any other developer will be suitably deterred from making any further inappropriate applications for this site.

Don't get too excited - they are trying to build this end of the village now!
