Appeal for residents' opinions
Thursday, January 19, 2012 at 8:30PM The detailed planning consent for 79 Houses on the Banbury Lane Site is now in the consultation period – this period will expire on or just after Monday 13rd February 2012 – that’s just over 3 weeks away and all representations must be submitted to the Planning Officer by that date.
It is vital that we protest against ill-thought out planning and attempts by the developer to impose cheap, badly designed housing next to the Conservation area of our village.
It is vitally important that you have your say to object to the Planning Application and to indicate key reasons why the development should not be allowed as currently proposed.
THIS AFFECTS YOU, YOUR LIFESTYLE, THE VALUE OF YOUR PROPERTY AND THE AMENITIES YOU CURRENTLY ENJOY – Act now before it’s too late!
Concerns to write about:
These are some extremely worrying aspects of the proposed development and we would urge you to write to the Planning Officer to object on the following grounds (in your own words, as each objection is only counted if it is individual and unique):
- Protect the conservation area. Policy EV11 states that the view from and to a Conservation Area must be protected.
- There must be NO POTENTIAL for traffic to gain access via Glovers Lane, Church Lane and Rectory Lane – Ever! These lanes in the Conservation Area simply cannot take more traffic.
- Inappropriate Apartment blocks - we need houses not Apartments!
- The Car Park at the southern end needs to be protected from future development and use by residents of the new development.
- Development Creep – they are already showing drainage points for further development. It’s 79 houses now – it’ll be over 120 next year!
- Housing Styles, Bad Design and Distribution of ‘Social Housing’ within the development: the developer is clearly trying to get away with dumping cheap, badly designed housing on us, with just a couple of smarter houses at the ‘front’ of the development facing onto the B4525. Middleton Cheney deserves quality housing!
- Appropriate Infrastructure must be installed to cope with sewage in Glover’s Lane and throughout the western end of the village.
- Highway safety on B4525 – there are lots of issues here!
If you need some more background on these issues, there are additional papers that provide more explanation of the issues above at the bottom of this page.
We need to get as many people as possible to write to the Planning Officer (see Points to Consider at the bottom of the page):

CALLING FOR VOLUNTEER DISTRIBUTORS! IF YOU CAN HELP, PLEASE LET US KNOW!
In the meantime, we also need people to help distribute leaflets to all the houses in the village, to encourage people to write in about this hugely important issue.
Please contact the Parish Clerk (Caroline or Alison) on 713500 or Nick Poole on 07958 317 479 or Peter Dixon 713 151 to let us know if you are willing to help with an hour (or more?) of your time in the next week.
