Heritage Open Days
Large numbers of people visit the church each year to view the stained glass windows created by William Morris, drawing upon the talents of many Pre-Raphaelite painters such as E Burne-Jones and F Madox Brown. The west window depicting the Fiery Furnace was the work of E Burne -Jones and is one of the most dramatic windows ever produced by the Morris firm.
In 2011 the church will be open as part of the Heritage Open Days initiative, when buildings of architectural or artistic merit across Britain and other European countries are opened to the public.
Opening times are:
Friday 9 September 10.00 to 17.00
Saturday 10 September 10.00 to 17.00
Sunday 11 September 12.30 to 17.00
Tea/coffee and biscuits will be on sale in the church during the open periods. There will be regular guided tours and information leaflets and postcards illustrating the windows will be available. Entry is free.
